Chrys Franklin has been a resident of Dallas for over fifty years. She worked for the Highland Park Independent School District for 26 years as a manager of food services for University Park Elementary School. She has two daughters and four grandchildren. She has been very active at University Park United Methodist Church and has held many offices: President of the United Methodist Women, Chair of the Worship-Music Committee, Circle leader and teacher, Good News Sunday School Class treasurer, and is President-elect of the CC Young Retirement Auxiliary. She has sung in the church choir for 25 years. She has also done volunteer work with various outreach groups, and has been on mission trips to Guatemala in 2006 and Africa in 2007. She enjoys travel, ourdoor activity, gardening, bridge, jazzercise, and keeping her grandchildren.
